Our Team

Jody Forsyth - Owner

Jody is the owner of The Upper Room Barber Shop. His barbering journey began in 2014, with a one day workshop that sparked his interest. Jody joined Knights School of Barbering soon after, excelling in their 6 week intensive course.

Shortly after completing the course, Jody joined a highly regarded barber shop in Dublin city centre. An opportunity soon arose to join The Grafton Barber as a senior member of staff, in their Blackrock branch.

Jody attributes his development as a barber to the next turn in his career, He was poached to the thriving and well established Mens Hair Co in Dun Laoire. It was here where he really perfected his craft. It was here where he worked along some of the best barbers in Dublin, and was a also a crucial member of their education and training team.

In 2016, Jody decided to take the leap of faith and venture out on his own. He worked the first year on his own, building the shop towards what it has become today, one of the busiest shops in Dublin.

"The first year was a grind by myself, and although the shop was doing really well, when Paddy joined we really took off" Jody said.

"I am constantly developing my skills and aiming to raise the bar. I've travelled all over Europe to learn from the best in business and we are always look at new techniques and innovation that we need to adapt to".
